Openfire is a popular open-source instant messaging server that offers robust features for real-time communication. Recently, we upgraded our Openfire installation from version 3.6.4 to 3.10.0 and configured LDAP for user authentication. Although the upgrade was successful, we encountered some issues with meeting functionality, specifically with screen sharing.

One of the first problems we faced was that the 'share screen' button became unresponsive after stopping the screen sharing session. This issue persisted even after restarting the Openfire service. After conducting further research, we discovered that the Meetings plugin version 0.5 was causing the problem. Specifically, it appeared to be related to screen sharing functionality. We eventually resolved the issue by downgrading the Meetings plugin to an earlier version.

In terms of recommended environments for Openfire 3.10.0 and Meetings 0.5, we found that the following configurations worked well:

* Java Version: Oracle JDK 1.8.0_45 (64-bit)

* Chrome Version: Latest stable release

It's worth noting that we did not experience any issues with screen sharing when using Openfire 3.10.0 and Meetings 0.5 on a new server with a fresh installation.
